The Captable.io import template helps you bulk import data from a large cap table. We recommend using it when you have more than a dozen instruments, or when you're migrating from a different cap table spreadsheet or system.
The import template can be found in Step 2 of the onboarding process, or by clicking on the Cap table import options button in the Ownership -> Cap Table Overview view:

- Orange - required fields
- Yellow - required if another field has data. For example, if you enter Preferred for a stock class' type, you also need to enter conversion rate.
- Blue - optional fields
- White - for export purposes only and should be ignored during import.
Data limit
All Captable.io plans supports unlimited shareholders, securities and seats. The import template allows you to bulk-import:
- 500 shareholders
- 30 stock classes
- 30 stock plans
- 1,000 securities of per type: stock, options / RSAs
- 100 convertible instruments/warrants
